And on top of watching their team being gutted like a mullet at an Elks Lodge clambake, Rays fans have to drive for miles over horrifyingly rutted, boobytrapped bridges where they also run the risk of being snatched out of the backs of their friends' pickups by the giant squid who lurk just beneath the pilings (I'm trying to think of good reasons why these fans just won't cross over from the east side of the bay and these are the best I could come up with) only to arrive at the Tropicana Tumulus, the most depressing and grotesque excuse for a baseball stadium this side of the collected works of Albert Speer. I've seen prettier natural gas storage tanks. Jason Giambi, with that hulking frame and perpetual six o'clock shadow of his, would look right at home there - and then could retire and be a security guard for the place, where he wouldn't have to shave for a couple of days at a time or look up from his comic book since no one shows up there anyway.
