Anyone wanna see a Mets reporter in a Speedo?

Note: you may not want to go to Port St. Lucie in February and March. Why? Because Andy Martino, who covers the Mets for the New York Daily News, and who used to cover the Phillies, has a promise to keep.  From a report he made from the Winter Meetings last week:

Here’s some of what we’ve been able to gather during the first day here in Florida. Lots of information swirling around the Twitter, some of it questionable. For example, if the Phillies sign Cliff Lee, I’ll cover spring training in a Speedo.

And the people in the Port St. Lucie press box thought I was annoying last spring!

Phillies fans get Cliff Lee. We Mets fans get a dude in speedo. Life isn’t fair.

Photo reminds me of Pierce Brosnan in The Matador, speaking of great, underrated flicks.

Dante’s Peak was also underrated. Though no speedos were harmed in the making of that movie.

My favorite bit from Dante’s Peak: Grandma’s feet melting in the lake of acid while dragging the boat to shore. She looked like Adam Dunn running the bases.
