The Indians unveil their Bob Feller memorial patch

Dec 16, 2010, 5:02 PM EST

As far as memorial patches go, this one is pretty sweet. Let’s just not dwell on the fact that they probably had it designed and in the can some time ago to be able to roll it out 18 hours after his death:

I like it. RIP Bob – you were amazing.

Of course they had the patch designed years ago, I mean “Its real hard to get out of life alive”.

That’s maybe the best baseball patch ever. That should be the new logo for MLB, minus his number and the HOF 1962. That’s better than Jerry West and the NBA logo. And as much as I like Killebrew on the current logo, maybe it’s time for a pitcher to be the face of MLB.

this is a great logo to honor Feller, but really no it’s not more iconic than the current mlb logo OR the nba logo..

I had read that the Indians had been planning on honoring Feller’s HOF induction during the 2011 season, so it’s possible that they were already planning on using this logo. Sadly, they now will not have the chance to use it while he was alive.
