Sox lose Beltre & Martinez, gain Gonzalez & Crawford-may be a wash, may be better team, may be worse. Yanks get Martin to throw out runners & Feliciano to add to Logan to get lefties out. I don’t see how Sox have jumped ahead of Yanks, maybe, but maybe not.

If the Yankees were able to land both Feliciano & Soriano that would certainly solve all of the bullpen issues the Yankees had during last season. It also would most certainly make Joba available as trade bait combined with a couple of “prospects”. If Pettitte does come back the Yankees might be able to package 3 players like Joba, Nova and a prospect or 2 for a strong #2 starting pitcher. All the players would be inexpensive and potentially attractive to a low revenue team like the Indians.

He’s an awesome signing. IF. If they only use him against lefties. he used to kill the Phillies on a regular basis from the pen. But right handed bats can hit him pretty well.

Bob Klapisch “The Voice of Gloom & Doom” from New Jersey’s Record Newspaper. How in the world does this clown merit space on MSNBC.com. His claim to fame is that of a “Yankee Hater”. No imagination, sad writing style and he never allows the facts to get in the way of a good story. Just once I’d like to see him break a real story and not bounce on the writing of others.

Well…. Gonzalez, Crawford, Ortiz are all Lefties and stand to come up 2, 3 and 5 in the 8th inning of a lot of games against the Yanks so maybe it’s a pretty darm good signing. If you’re in a fantasy league that scores Holds you should go get this guy and make sure he’s in your lineup when the Yanks play the Sox. (As long as AJ didn’t start because there won’t be a lead to hold).
