I like it. I just don't think KC is going to trade him at least not in 2011. I'm all for moving Joba. I think the change of scenery would do him a world of good. As they say I think the Yankees should run it up the flag pole and see who salutes. I still wouldn't be surprised to see the Yankees sign Soriano before pitchers and catchers report to spring training in February. But a lot can happen in the next 6 weeks or so, maybe even the introduction of a starting pitcher.

To uyf1950... You know how big I am on Soriano, I wanted the Yanks to sign him at the start of free agency, but how about trading the Fat Toad (Joba) and Romine and a lower prospect for Soria?

Assuming the Royals would trade Soria I would still much prefer the Yankees sign Soriano. In the long run Soriano will cost the Yankee less. They could probably sign Soriano for about $10M per for 3 years with an option for a 4th year if necessary and not have to trade prospects. Soria would probably want to renegotiate his contract and the Yankees would have to give up prospect to the Royals. The Yankees can keep their 2011 payroll exactly where their 2010 opening day payroll was even with the signing of Soriano and Pettitte coming back (if he does). If Pettitte doesn't come back then the Yankees can use that money and the prospects to trade for a #2 pitcher at some point before the trade deadline. Who knows what teams will make what pitchers available.
