I don't get it, this guy(Bonderman) has nothing. I would much rather have Mitre than this burn out. Don't forget Mitre wasn't 100% last year after his surgery, he should be just about full strength this season. Spring training should tell a lot about what he'll have going in. I just saw too many teams beat the hell out of Bonderman and after all how many A J Burnett's can one team have.

I agree with you in part. But if the Yankees are looking for a #5 pitcher with low cost and they don't want to rely on Mitre it's not a bad option especially if Pettitte comes back. If that turns out to be the case the starting rotation doesn't look that bad. CC, Pettitte (if he comes back), Hughes, AJ & Bonderman. With Nova and Mitre as long relief guys and Logan, Robertson, Filiciano and of course Rivera.
If Pettitte doesn't come back it would look like: CC, Hughes, AJ, Nova & Bonderman. Bonderman would at least give them a little more wiggle room until the trade deadline to get a front line pitcher.
Is it the ideal option of course not, but it may be an option nevertheless.
