All is not lost Ross, at least Hargrove’s back on board. His presence alone probably won’t offset Manny Acta ineptness, but it should help in time.

My O’s have also been scouring the discount bin for another starter too, so I feel your pain.

I dunno… wasn’t Duensing pretty good after they plugged him in the rotation? He had a very impressive 10-3 record to go with a 2.62 ERA in 13 starts.

Yeah, I was looking at them as locks for the rotation, not to imply that either is a legit, top-of-the-line ace.

Although it’s hard to bag on Liriano after last year. Look at the numbers, he was one of the top three or four starters in the American League. He is–seemingly–all the way back from Tommy John Surgery now so there’s no reason to think he can’t perform at or near this level going forward, especially when you factor in how well he did with a .340 BABIP.

These are the kind of players the Indians should be trying to bolster their team with. They won’t, but they should.

Of course if they did and he turned out to do well they’d trade him for a A prospect to be named.

sorry but Liriano is NOT a lock by any means. and the Human ER would not be an Ace on most teams. dont get me wrong. the Twins seem to be able to get to the playoffs no matter what the disadvantage but i would not call those 2 “Locks”

I really, really, really, REALLY hope the Twins are in the mix for Duchscherer.

The dude can be lights out when he’s healthy and the Twins rotation has two locks in Liriano and Pavano and a whole lot of white noise in Baker, Blackburn, Slowey, etc…

I’d like to see ‘em bring him in now that they’ve passed on some of the other reclamation projects (ie: Brandon Webb/Chris Young/Jeff Francis) this offseason.
