The last knuckleballer aside from Tim Wakefield to have two very good years in a row… actually, Wakefield hasn’t really ever done that either.

Granted, it’s not a huge outlay, and if the gamble pays off they’ll most likely have two cheap FA years, but it’s still very very likely to be $5M-$8M wasted.
