Tampa really hated Carl Crawford, David Price, Fred McGriff.

Actually they didn’t; those players played well, so it stands to reason that they were liked. What Elijah apparently doesn’t understand is that it’s hard to get any community to like you as a baseball player if you run your mouth, alienate your teammates, find ways to get into legal trouble, (cough) threaten to kill your wife and kids (cough), act like you are above the team and then bat .190.

Dukes will always refuse to realize that he’s the reason why he failed in baseball. I fear that a rock-bottom story isn’t far off in his life, and it’s going to be frightening.

I’m not surprised Dukes smoked pot beforehand. Copious amounts of pot and alcohol are the way most Nats fans get through games at Nats Park. Why should the players be any different.
