Unlike Favre, Pedro really did step away from the game and hasn’t initiated a thing about it other than saying he wouldn’t be back last year (and he wasn’t) and politely answering questions asked, not trying to generate self-serving publicity for himself (unless you consider building schools and hospitals for the poor with your own money self-serving). All the guy did was put up Koufax numbers in a hitter’s park during the steroid era and you guys comment like he was some piece of crap that baseball is lucky to be rid of. What is it about baseball that you like if you don’t like what Pedro did on the field and off of it since he retired?
