		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;ve said it before and I&#039;ll say it again, the Twins and Red Sox make a lot of sense here, especially if Pittsburgh is willing to eat a bunch of the remaining money on that deal.

The Twins are running Drew Butera out there as Mauer&#039;s backup and given Mauer&#039;s propensity for injuries, it&#039;d be nice to have a reliable--albeit mostly with the bat and not the glove--backup waiting in the wings.

In Boston, they&#039;re looking at Varitek and Salty. I&#039;m not totally down on Salty as an everyday player yet, he&#039;s still pretty danged young to be considered a washout at this point, but adding another option couldn&#039;t hurt a team that&#039;s largely expected to be in contention for the World Series.]]></description>
