I don’t know who you’ve been seeing but I think he’s pretty damn impressive not only on the field but off it as well.

Also, I don’t see how you can call Sabathia greedy. At a minimum he’s absolutely no more “greedy than the Yankees” When they opened the Stadium the really good seats were $2,500 per. One nobody brought them the price dropped. Yet, the $1,250 price was still about 4 or 5 times what they were in the old stadium. The explanation was “supply and demand”. That is exactly the principle that Sabathis is employing. If the Yankees are hurting for front line pitching now what do you think their predicament will be next off season? And, lets not forget the Yankees gave him this opt out AFTER A-Rod had already put them on the business end of an opt out. So they either saw this as an additional incentive knowing the possible out come or they were REALLY STUPID.

What happens on the field and in the club house is baseball the rest is business.

The real question that should be asked is. Posada probably won’t be around long enough to see if Andy does return in 2012 that is. Andy did leave the door slightly ajar for a return for the 2012 season, Posada’s going to be viewing Yankee games on TV by then.

The question was, where are you going to find these 2 “top of the line starters” that are “like Cliff Lee”? You people clearly haven’t dont much research considering the main reason CC would opt-out is because there are no pitchers that are going to be available next year…making him quite the commodity.

And to call CC not “overly impressive” is just idiotic.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he came back mid-season (a la Pedro Martinez), but only if the Yankees are in the chase, which is far from being guaranteed. Hopefully Nova is the real deal and Burnett gets things figured out, or the Yankees are going to be in trouble (unless they can pull off a good trade – I wouldn’t mind having Gio Gonzalez, but I’m sure the A’s would want a good prospect in return).

Get over it, he’s done and the Yankees need to move on. I’m so sick of hearing this BS about Pettitte, all it does is give the media something to write about. The Yankees should start looking for a replacement for CC, that greedy sob isn’t happy with his contract. If the Yankees allow him to take them into deep water they’re fools. The money they save by letting him go will be enough to sign two front line starters. Let him test the waters see what some other team will pay him. If I remember correctly the Yankees out bid only themselves. To me he hasn’t been overly impressive anyway.
