The irony in all this is that Waxman offered Clemens the opportunity to opt out of the live congressional hearings the night before. And in his shining arrogance, Clemens instead chose to proceed. Surely this has to be one of the dumbest lawyer-client duos in the entire history of criminal law.

Kudos to the Daily News for continuing to be one of the leading papers in the nation in regards to covering PEDs and sports issues -- including BALCO and steroids in baseball. Maybe that's why some seemingly pro-steroids fan here doesn't like "New York's Picture Newspaper."

Great Matt Taibbi article in Rolling Stone about how, after the meltdown, no Wall Street scum have gone to jail, or even been prosecuted for insider trading, disclosure violations, etc., while the Feds throw their full weight at Clemens. No wonder he seems bewildered by it all.
