Brian Roberts woke up this morning with a sore neck, so he skipped team workouts and Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that he left Orioles camp to undergo X-rays.

Roberts missed nearly the entire first half of last season with a herniated disk in his back and sat out the final week due to a concussion, but in between he hit .287 with a .763 OPS and 10 steals in 55 second-half games and came into spring training healthy at age 33.

For now Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com deems the X-rays “precautionary,” but also says “it’s possible his neck stiffness … could be related to his back.”

The good news for the O’s is that it’s still early (leaving plenty of recovery time), plus they have brought in plenty of infield depth. The bad news is that none of that depth is anywhere near as effective as BRob is when healthy.

The even worse news is this is exactly how the whole back thing started last year. He showed up for spring training, made it through a day or two, woke up with a sore back that he said was “no big deal”, sat out all of spring, played 1 regular season game, and wound up on the DL for 4 months. So, of course, this morning he says “It’s no big deal.” We’ll see.

I wake up with a sore neck every day. The team was different after his return last year. His presence provides something. Hope this isn’t any thing major.

Just recently got banned from profootballtalk.com. Don’t know why, so I can’t brag yet. Anyway, sure is relaxed over here. It’ll be interesting to see if WordPress censors this.

Banned, eh? Takes a lot for PFT to ban someone; those guys use brimstone for heating their houses and their blood is pure vitriol. You must be some badass. Hope you’ll be ok here, just don’t sound even vaguely commie or there will be hell to pay.

Ya the childish, you suck, the Steelers are scumbags, Rapistberger, your a loser, Im the greatest, Viqueens, shut up, your an idiot, you kno nothing about football, dog killer, stuff doesnt happen here for the most part and when it does that person is usually put in his place by Craig or every1 else. Except for the occasional left wing bias its actually enjoyable here, people have real discussions.

Figure it out Roberts. Im counting on you to play, get on base, and steal a couple of them. And for the improved lineup behind you to knock you in. I got you on 3 of my fantasy teams, and 2 of them are for money. Reward my faith.
