I saw him more in AAA then in the Bigs !
He made regular appearances for the Bosox AAA in Philly’s AAA park in Lehigh Valley,PA more then in Fenway or any other AL Park

If he could actually average more than 5 innings a start that would be useful.
Why do I think this guy is shot? I mean, he was throwing 200 pitches a game in Japan at times. Might have just emptied the gas tank. He isn’t throwing near as hard now as he was when he first showed up over here.

Not to repeat the quote in the piece but shouldn’t that have been his goal every year. Aside from that I’m going to assume that not many reports there speak Japanese. So how can anyone be sure that’s what he said and the translator didn’t make that part up as an excuse for his prior bad performances. Then there is always that outside possibility that he hopes to pull a Beckett and get an extension before he totally goes in the tank and his contract runs out.
