It didn’t look like he was dogging it; he was dogging it. GA was a very underrated hitter, but I have nothing good to say about his defensive effort. Jim Edmonds and Garret Anderson retire within two weeks of each other — two California Angel products who couldn’t have had more opposite views on how to pursue a fly ball.

To say nothing of his bases-clearing double in Game 7 of the ’02 Series. He always got a pass from me after that, even when being so frustated with what looked like him “doggin it” out in the field toward the end.
