No, they should invest the money where they can get long-term and sustained value – Rule IV draft and international signings. Good for them to not flush $5M down the sh*tter to go from a 62 win team to a 65 win team. Ask Royals fans who want a time machine to go forward 2 years so they can enjoy the fruits of their farm system bounty (and pray that DM does not screw it up).

So in conclusion, this is EXACTLY what the Pirates should be doing with the revenue money.
