My point was that it took how long before Bradley (allegedly?) made his terrositic threats, while Dukes leapfrogged him to graduate to actual (alleged) abuse in a much shorter time frame.

I don’t think in his case it’ll matter how long they lock him up. This guy sounds like he came hardwired for sociopathy. I suspect he’s less a recidivist in a purely behavioral sense than he is genetically predetermined for an inability to empathize with anyone else as well as for violence. He also seems to be preternaturally stupid, as in too stupid even to mimic effectively the emotions and social graces he perceives in those around him, as a sociopath with a working mind in his brain might do. Florida is a “three strkes” state. Let’s hope he’s called out for good before he kills someone – as he clearly will eventually if not incarcerated.

Oh, he’s way, WAY worse than Bradley. Bradley is mostly just a pain in the ass; a guy can keep getting chances if he’s just a pain in the ass. That’s how he’s remained on MLB rosters for a decade or so now. Dukes is a whole other thing. People call him stupid, but it’s so far beyond that. He’s just got some kind of major damage where he’s fundamentally unable to consider the consequences of his actions like a normal person does. You don’t go around hitting pregnant women just out of being dumb or a jerk. The guy is mentally ill. Serious help is right.

I always wondered the same thing. Play in the NFL for 5-7 years, make a few million, invest it properly, and live upper middle class for the rest of your life without ever having to work, or poppin bottles of kris every night and HAVING to play for 10-15 years to pay for it all.
