Prime Minister Pete Nice on Charlie Sheen’s “winning” ring

One of the pictures Charlie Sheen posted on Twitter during his manic media tour showed him wearing Babe Ruth’s 1927 World Series ring, which is part of the Major League star’s extensive collection of baseball memorabilia.

In an effort to learn about the ring’s controversial history–which includes alleged theft and fraud–Deadspin turned to Pete Nash, who’s better known as “Prime Minister Pete Nice” from the 1990s hip-hop group 3rd Bass and is himself both a big baseball fan and memorabilia collector.

And if that isn’t enough to get you to click this link and read Nash’s whole article … well, we probably can’t be friends any more.

Nash: The Messy History Of Charlie Sheen’s “Winning” Ring

Still unresolved? Whether you’ve ever heard of a chef who can’t cook.

Careful what you say about Charlie. He just might “defeat you in the air and deploy his ordnance to YOUR ground, … you worm!

That ring, regardless of if it belonged to Ruth, came into Sheen’s possession legitimately or whatever, is well on its way to being a collectors item simply because of its association with Charlie “Nails” Sheen. I do believe we are witnessing the association of a moderately famous artifact (and that fame is dubious) becoming even more (or finally, depending on if its the real deal or not) famous. The way his life is going the final chapter will be written when the Opera about Sheen’s life hits broadway (a la ANS) after his death, which, given the road he’s on, will likely not be peaceful or incident free. At that point the rings provenance a la Ruth will be moot for it will be the Sheen Ring. Yes lads, the One Ring. The precious…

Get your public apology ready. And know you will kiss his feet.

I think the ring is from Mars.

J5: The One Ring from Mars? No sir, you are wrong. I saw the Peter Jackson documentary. It was forged in the fires of Mt Doom.

And Charlie, Warlock from Mars, conjured it out of thin air?

      • cur68 - Mar 4, 2011 at 3:44 PM

No. He killed Daegol for it. Weren’t you paying attention? Look, it’s perfectly obvious when you pay attention. He’s shriveling as a person, yet he remains alive in spite of his repellant excesses; more and more he’s deranged and irrational; he lives in a sprawling fortress with only Orcs and other goblins (Dykstra) for company. Only a matter of time before he consumes Dykstra, too. He’s Gollum, man! Do I have to spell it out?!

Sorry…I’m high on a drug called Charlie Sheen!!!!!!! Or is it Utley’s Hair? Or is it Herbal Essences? Dude…I’m so confused….

      • cur68 - Mar 4, 2011 at 4:00 PM

From all I’ve seen of Utley’s hair, you’d need varsol to get through it. I see what the problem is. Just be careful of how much Sheen you use; could be bad for you.

MC Hammer put a hit out on this guy almost 20 years ago and he’s still alive. I doubt he’s worried about Charlie Sheen.

generic; er…what? MC Hammer has a hit out on Babe Ruth? So confused…

  6. feartherallythong - Mar 5, 2011 at 11:18 AM

Well, is Babe Ruth dead, or what? Clearly the hit was successful.
    MC Hammer – winning!
Now, on to the question of how it relates to Sheen…

    • cur68 - Mar 5, 2011 at 10:17 PM

I think genericcommenter must have submerged for the duration of this post. Before it disappears altogether, let me have a go as to how this thing might have unfolded; so Hammer pays Sheen to bump of Ruth. Since neither guy is too bright, we can safely assume they don’t realize for like 20 years, that Ruth’s dead already (1948), see? So Sheen’s going slowly nutso trying to find Ruth to whack him. He’s gone so far as to buy Ruth’s ring from 1927, right? This explains Sheen’s weird behavior. Also this logically means genericcommenter must be Sheen, since he doesn’t realize Ruth’s been dead for like 60 odd years now. Its the only way this works, otherwise its all just …madness….
