In any case there’s nothing about the primarily residential neighborhood into the middle of which Macondo Banana Massacre Field has been plopped that even vaguely resembles Wrigleyville. Even if you were to hike the fifteen or so blocks up to Calle Ocho to get to Little Havana, you’d be in a neighborhood largely devoid of clubs and bars – mainly discount pharmacies, cafe Cubanos with their ventanas dispensing cortaditas of mega-caffeine, croquets de jamon and guyaba pasteles. All of this is fine, of course, if you’ve run out of tampons for your pitbull and need a pick-me-up because the upstairs neighbors kept you awake all night with creaking bedsprings in service to the Pope, and those pasteles will surely put a smile on your endocrinologist’s face. Perhaps ten years will see a metamorphosis of the surrounding streets to serve the dozens of fans emerging from the stadium after the sixth or seventh innings in search of the mythical Metrorail or light rail line the city papas (which you can read as a translinguistic pun linking “father” to spuds) have been promising us for decades. But at the moment, it’s a horrible neighborhood to plunk a baseball stadium, even one that looks more like the crashed space jockey’s star freighter from Alien than a stadium at all.

But why would they go through all this and not make sure the place is user friendly. People hate traffic with a passion. And they dont want to deal with something they deal with going to work everyday. It will get old quick. Its one thing to have a traffic problem and then not to have public transprtation to the park so one doesnt have to drive is going to be a problem all in itself to. Remember. Drinking and driving (Mr. Laurie) is against the law. Its just so much money to waste and not have everything be right. Why would you just brush issues like those to the side.

Plus what are they buying tickets for? This team has been a disgrace for years and they are not going to turn it around in one season. The 2012 season is a mirage and only in Chicago’s Wrigley Park do people come out just to see the stadium not in South Florida. Here they want to see competitive baseball.

Plus that idiot Jeffrey Lurie is still the owner and That Three Card Monte charatcer Sampson is still the GM and that’s not going to change. Ask them how they hoodwinked the City of Miami into building them a new stadium while they cried poverty and at the same time taking revenue sharing money from other wealthier owners, i. e. Yankees, Red Sox and Anaheim while pocketing a tidy profit in the millions? What a bunch of clowns.
