You decide: Twins beat reporter or 80s/90s utility infielder?

len3 and newman

Having witnessed an “are you Al Newman?” moment first-hand when I was in the press box at Target Field with LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune last season, I got a chuckle out of this tweet from the Twins beat reporter who is frequently confused for the former Twins utility infielder:

Don’t feel bad, LEN3. People confuse me for Brad Pitt all the time. It’s super annoying.

He actually looks more like Al Roker than Al Newman.

I made that mistake at TwinsFest. Saw him walk by, said “Hey, it’s Al Newman!” and then realized it was LEN3 because he had a media pass.

Agreed on him looking like Roker also.

I can never tell, all utility infielders look a like to me…

Ok, help me here; which guy in the pictures above is Neal III and which guy is Newman? I seriously cannot tell them apart and I look in the mirror at a guy who is that brunette every damn day so I got lots of practice looking past skin tone etc.

LEN3 is on the left, Neuman on the right.

It is kind of ironic, as Newman was often confused as being Kirby Puckett during their playing days.

    (Newman is on the right)

But LEN3 doesn’t deny that he’s Carl Gerbschmidt, right?

Are we 100% sure both those guys are Jason Whitlock?
