Mar 9, 2011, 9:45 AM EDT

Tiffany and I are back and today we talk the AL East. Well, we actually talked about it yesterday, but nothing new has happened since then, so we're cool.

So three older Yankee players had down years and wonder of wonders you expect all three to bounce back. Lets see if I can guess your logic.

CC- Well he isn’t really that old so last year was an outlier.

RD-He isn’t an elite talent just a very good one and he could easily be starting his decline a bit early.

CC-He is finally over his hip surgery

RD-How many third baseman in their mid to late 30’s continue to put up big numbers?

CC-He’s the Captain! He was good in 2009!

RD-He also showed decline in 2007 and 2008, 2009 looks more like the abberation then 2010.

I think what is worst for Yank fans is the length of these guys contracts. Jeter (37 in June) is clearly on the downhill, but just signed for 4 more years. Tex (31 in April) is signed through 2016, 6 more years. A-Rod (36 this season) is incredibly signed through 2017, when he will be 43. Ouch. On top of that, Sabathia will get big raise/ extension after he opts out at the end of the season, and Cano will be owed a huge deal at the end of the 2014 season. 2014 may not be a good time to be an accountant in the NYY front office. I know they are the Yankees, but there has to be a limit somewhere.

How many DH’s do they think they can play at the same time? Time and money may not catch up to the Yankees in 2011. But it is coming.

Damn, Craig. After a week and a half in rainy Arizona, I would’ve thought that you’d get SOME color. And the lighting and your sweater(?) there make you look more undead than usual.

And welcome back, Tiffany!!!!! The Calcaterrable Minions missed you!!!

You called Craig undead. I laughed.
