And yes, I can call the author a nerd because I too like the “Star Trek” films, because that audio file is a capture of my daughter calling me a baseball geek, and because we can call each other that.

Craig, I enjoyed reading about your trip to the Cactus League this year, but what I really missed was a post at the end about your daughter’s underwhelmed and slightly dismissive reaction to your return.
Re: the Star Trek v Beckett comparison:
I suspect the comparison, if accurate, means Beckett will be off the Red Sox (out of baseball?) after 2012, leaving the franchise to the Next Generation.
