The &quot;M&quot; for thousands was replaced by the more familiar &quot;k&quot; during the &#039;80&#039;s, as part of the ascendancy of IT companies who used that notation. Maddux&#039;s &quot;80M&quot; would be &quot;80k&quot; today.]]></description>
