To all you yankee fans out there. I really dont care if my beloved redsox dont win again. To see steinberger’s face game 7 of the alcs when the red sox were leading 11-0 and the yankess were in the process of blowing a 3 games to none lead and the stadium was like a mausoleum nothing can ever really top that, or as they say in those commercials (priceless).

sorry beanbrain, Gonzalez is strikeout prone and history in the past has shown us switching leagues isnt always a easy thing to do and add in that little shoulder injury he has and you got all the right things going on for a big bust!! Dont worry though, Gonzalez wont be the only redsuk on the DL this year, bank on it jerky

Dirtyharry was obviously drunk when he wrote that , you can hate on the Red Sox all you want , but to say Adrian Gonzalez is going to be a bust is just stupid . Maybe he doesn’t have that big monster year everyone seems to be talking about ( which i think he will have ) but to be a bust you sound like a moron . I’ll give players credit from other teams were they are due there is a few Yankees i think will have bounce back seasons this year , but to say a guy that has hit as well as he has the past few seasons with no protection in his lineup is going to be a bust when he is now surrounded by great hitters is plain dumb . As for the rotation they will be more then fine , plenty of ball clubs in baseball that would love to have the Red Sox rotation . Sox and Yankees will both find holes in their rotations but both teams have enough hitting to get through it regardless. Pisano how is that ” collage ” coming around for ya ?

Adrian Gonzalez is going to be a big bust this year, wait and see as he will have issues adjusting to the pitching in the AL and his strikeout numbers are going to go up big and his average is going to take a tumble as well. But this wont be the biggest issue in baston this year, thats gonna be when redsuk fans wake up and realize there rotation is highly overrated, thats gonna be their undoing, bank on it!

beantownsports – hopefully reading comprehension is one of those 2 classes that you need to get your Bachelors Degree. Since I don’t recall Brian Cashman ever saying he or the Yankees were “afraid” of the Red Sox. Only that the Red Sox were the favorites in the AL East because of what they did in the off season. There is a very big difference. Also, and this is a question should we presume that you believe Lackey is a better pitcher then Josh Johnson from your comment because of their performances today? Because if that’s what you are saying or if you believe that you really have a lot to learn about baseball and pitchers.
One final comment I would place to much emphasis on teams performances during spring training most teams are giving “prospects” a look see before they go back down to the minors especially this early in the pre-season. Further evidence that spring training records are not indicative of the ML clubs in season performance you only have to look at the 2009/10 pre-season records of both the Red Sox at 17-14 and the Yankees at 13-15. We all know how the 2010 regular season worked out.

Pisano , actually I am 2 classes away from my Bachelors at UF and have been pitching on the team for four years , thanks for the concern though buddy , very much appreciated. Lets hear about your baseball career ……… Wifi in the air is a beautiful thing , my friends ( as UYF would put it ) . Any Red Sox fans see Josh Johnson get lit up today ? No wonder why Cashman is so afraid of the ” AL favorite ” Red Sox . Looking to be a great season for the Sox , Yankees not so much .

Just ignore the dickish Sox fans like we ignore the dickish Yankee fans.

More importantly, the guy has no idea what he’s talking about if he equates Lackey with Lester (they both… start with L?) while not being “sold” on Buchholz.

All I was saying is that you pretty much know what you will get from both Lester and Lackey. However, other pitchers in the rotation are up in the air.

ha yankees will finish 3rd in the east this year . I believe that this guy has the skills and potential to be a legendary hitter at Fenway Park. I believe he will have Manny’s hitting ability, but will actually be able to play defense. I loved the way Manny hit but became very nervous when even a routine pop fly came his way. I think defensively and at the plate the Sox are in good shape, but being a realistic die hard fan, I find their starting rotation to be suspect. We have Lackey and Lester that I would count on, but Beckett is a season to season kind of pitcher (meaning you don’t what you will get each year) and Dice-K shouldn’t even make the squad. I know we have Bucholz but I am not totally sold on him either. Either way it looks like it will be better to be a Sox fan this year rather than a “Skankies” fan!
