Aside from Scrooge McLoria's self-aggrandizing inclination to penury, nothing has held the Feesh back more tellingly than their insistence on "converting" outfielders to infielders and vice-versa. The team hasn't had a real third baseman playing third base since Mike Lowell, and Coghlan himself is a former infielder sent to the outfield and now playing on a surgically repaired knee, which was all the justification the Feesh brass needed to spawn rumors this past weenter that he would be "converted" to a third baseman. The Feesh have also been noted for hoarding "utility players," meaning mediocre at a range of positions - Kindly Uncle Wes Helms and El Bonifacio the Multitasker being the most noteworthy of the current lot. I meesed whatever Coghlan did to his shoulder, although I imagine it must have been difficult to hurt a throwing shoulder while being laid up with a knee injury, but this grapefruit league season has been such a fiasco for the Feesh that the slightly elevated hopes we had for the team following an offseason that saw most of our boolpen arsonists replaced by what now looks like a fresh crop of arsonists have been dissipating fast.
