But if you want to credit Belt to Neukom, you have to credit the players listed above to Magowan.

Funny how the Giants are generating talent with the change in managing general partners. I offer all my old comments in defense (sort of, I was always rather tepid) of Sabean, the thrust of which was: most of the worst contracts were the result of the then-managing GM’s insistence on a Bonds-centric team.

Anyway, Sabean or not, the Giants have the 2010 trophy, and they’ll stick to the formula of starting promising guys in Fresno so they can play every day. You never know about young players. Is Belt the next Posey, or the next Matt Wieters? The team will have a better feel for the answer to that question in June.
