Brad Lidge threw a problem-free bullpen session this morning and afterward told Todd Zolecki of MLB.com that he’s hoping to return to game action within 3-4 days.

Lidge has been sidelined for a week with right biceps tendinitis, but said his arm “felt really good” while throwing 35 pitches today and is scheduled for another bullpen session Sunday.

Zolecki also asked Lidge about his decreased velocity prior to the injury, but the closer seemed unconcerned: “It’s coming. My pop will never be there until the first game I’m closing during the regular season.”

35 pitches? They trying to make him a long reliever? Oh, THAT’S right—that’s a typical inning for him.

Anyone who knows Brad’s history knows that his arm could have fallen off and he’ll say he feels great. I’ll be convinced when he can get his fastball beyond 86 mph. I’m sorry. It’s 2 weeks to go. The standard “it’s only spring” line is starting to wear thin. He really looks bad out there.

Hey! He has tendonitis! Send for the surgeon, a leach and a snake oil salesman. That arm needs surgery. They should bleed him, too. That always works.

You know better than to say “bleed” around Vlad the Undead.
