Agreed. This is the best opportunity of the rest of his career (or what little is left of it). Maybe he had something else important to do but personally I think the list of things more important than reporting and busting your butt to make the team is one item long and begins with “Life” and and ends with “or death situation.”

Unreal. Some guys never get it. You get a chance to maybe latch on to a contender in what is likely your last season playing and all you do is confirm people’s negative thoughts about your bad habits. Maybe he has personal issues but he doesn’t get it. Get someone else to handle them especially when you know you don’t have the best of reputations. Some guys just belong with teams like the Mets for life.
