Nahh... removing a gall bladder is routine surgery these days and if the Mariners doctors had ANY inclination that that might be the problem, they'd yank it out just as quickly as they would an appendix. I'm sure too that by now he's had a colonoscopy in order to rule out any intestinal blockage too.

The bottom line has to be a bad diet, because it's obvious that everytime the dude goes to the john he just sits, and sits and sits and has more than enough time to catch up on his reading! I bet he's got the piles/hemorrhoids from all the straining he must be doing as well.

I don't know why the media always has to sugarcoat things. Why refer to a malady as being "a slow digestive tract" instead of simply stating that "the dude has a serious issue with on going constipation resulting in a bad case of the piles"?

His constipation problems can be I'm sure easily solved with a change in diet, taking supplemental fiber (like Metamucil), and pounding down a nice cold big old glass of prune juice at breakfast every morning (which tastes by the way a heck of a lot better than the more popular V8 juice). This isn't rocket science folks!
