You could probably keep Carlos happy indefinitely by leaving a big tureen of Ivar’s Chowder and a box of Cow Chip Cookies in the bullpen. You could also borrow the original crapper from Doc Maynard’s so he’d have someplace to sit. And speaking of crappers, since Milwaukee has a statue of Bud Selig out front to distract the pigeons from the fans’ hats, maybe you could also borrow the Lenin statue from the Fremont CoC and put that out in front of the stadium. Then not only will Carlos feel at home, but if Lenin still has the mojo that remade Fremony from a student slum into a Yuppie utopia, maybe the team will become competitive again.

Umm…yes. Baseball players make a lot of money. That is what that market dictates because people spend a lot of money attending those events. I’m not exactly sure what your point is supposed to be? Should Silva give the money to charity because he didn’t make the team or something?
I’ve always been amazed at the outrage at athletes for making millions of dollars. Odds are, Silva did a lot less harm to society with his millions than the CEO of Goldman Sachs. Yet, everyone seems to be much angrier at athletes!

I think that financial advisor to Wilpons would be better job. If Silva was as good at that as he has been at pitching this spring it would be a big improvement!

I am thinking that the Mariners should grab him. We are already paying half his salary, may as well get some innings out him in return. Sure he is terrible. But, with the exception of Felix (and maybe Pineda), so is the rest of our pitching.

I don’t think he is really a “fit” for our bullpen though. Well, maybe if we enlarged it.

Carlos Silva needs to retire and become a BP pitcher IMO. Call it a career before another set of fans comes to detest the very sound of his name and re-hab his image by helping out some hitters on his own team rather than the opposition’s.
