Don Cooper is generally regarded as one of the best pitching coaches in the game. In particular, he has a history of taking pitchers and either improving their cutters or teaching them the cutter in the first place.

Google "don cooper cutter" or some such and you'll find a LOT of stories on it.

You're right, Aaron did not say he was. Mr. Ari Collins did so I wanted someone to expand. El Duque and Contreras miracles? Man, I'd hate to think what what he thinks of the work Cooper did with Billy Koch.

I'm sure Don Cooper is fine, but I've never heard of him as a "miracle" worker (to be fair, Gleeman didn't really say he was). Danks and Floyd were top 10 picks with solid minor league track records. No argument on 2003 Loaiza, but Contreras and El Duque were not great when with the Sox.

Another big question is if the Edwin Jackson the White Sox saw in the second half is a fluke or a(nother) Don Cooper miracle. If they get a full season of that, I think they'll take the division.
