Suspected “serial bank robber” wears Red Sox hat

Three recent bank robberies in Ohio are being traced back to a man “who wears a distinctive Boston Red Sox baseball cap,” according to Jennifer Baker of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Still shots of surveillance footage of the unmasked man wearing his Red Sox hat accompany the Cincinnati Enquirer news story and police say he simply “passed a teller a note and a white plastic bag.”

Baker writes that “the suspect implied he had a gun” and “fled … in an early 1990’s gray Chevrolet Blazer-type vehicle.”

Based on that information, I’m guessing this is less “guy so bold he doesn’t even wear a mask” and more “guy so strapped for cash he can’t afford a mask.”

Also seems like bad news for the Indians and Reds that they can’t even get the local bank robbers to wear their hats.

Does kinda look like Theo, maybe they are more worried about their starters than they are admitting.

I thoiught Theo was shorter? You just can’t trust those RS Nation characters.

Theo would use a gorilla suit.

So…“the suspect implied he had a gun?” Was it Eva’s?

the bank proceeds aren’t part of revenue sharing, so this plan is genius

I think Ben Affleck would be a person of interest.

this dude is obviously a first class loser. not for robing the bank but for being a Sox fan.

I couldn’t have said it better, but in reality it does appear to be Theo, he’s trying to get some of the money back that Dice-k beat them out of.

Yeah. The Red Sox are so broke that they acquired Crawford, Gonzalez, and a Premier League soccer team in the offseason.

Honestly, I think the fact that you have to go all the way back to the ’06-’07 offseason to find something to rag on Theo about is pretty impressive. Also, the Red Sox won the World Series the year after the signed Matsuzaka (he was their innings leader in the regular season that year). That should maybe count for something.

Right. Because no one’s ever committed a crime while wearing a Yankee lid.

Or, like in your case, cannot spell.

  6. psousa1 - Mar 29, 2011 at 1:38 PM

Maybe it’s Jose Offerman! He probably thinks “I stole a lot of money once before wearing a Red Sox hat maybe I can get away with it again!”

    • JBerardi - Mar 29, 2011 at 3:42 PM

Ah, an Offerman dig. That’s more like it.
