Nobody wants to be the last guy to die in a war. I would bet nobody wants to be the last ballplayer injured during spring training. Look at Zito. He survives the orthopedic holocaust of the past six weeks only to get pranged at the last minute by some nincompoop talking on a cell phone (just guessing here). And with Zito’s luck, that was the ghost of Neal Cassady driving the other car.

I smell attempted sabotage by Dodgers fans.

Not that it would be too big of a loss. In the four years since we [San Francisco] got Zito from the A’s, he has continually disapointed us time and time again. I think that we need to trade him or void his contract as he has certainly not performed upto his $128 million price tag. Or, if he wants to keep playing here, he should volunarily reduce his paycheck.

Yikes. Hope Zito is ok. All payroll jokes aside, he is a great person with class, charity and dignity. Aside from that, he can be counted on to make 33 starts, pitch 200 innings, and lighten the load for a great bullpen.
