“How are you a Yankees fan at all? It’s like being a huge fan of fascism”

Apr 8, 2011, 12:32 PM EDT

Yes, it’s a commercial — for New Era caps — but it’s funny, it has some good Yankees-Red Sox hate and it’s got Alec Baldwin in it, and I’d watch Alec Baldwin in just about anything, so there you are.

It’s spelled “fascism”. And it’s a fun thing to call anyone who disagrees with you!

Funnier when The Dude just got clocked with a coffee mug

    • Utley's Hair - Apr 8, 2011 at 12:48 PM

It’s a Freudian typo from Craig, who obviously has a crush on Jack Ryan.

  2. Ari Collins - Apr 8, 2011 at 12:42 PM

    Anyway, fun commercial.

  3. ThatGuy - Apr 8, 2011 at 12:44 PM

I can’t watch the video at work, but if its Red Sox calling Yankee’s fanz fascists isn’t that a little like Mussolini calling the Nazi’s fascist?

  4. Utley's Hair - Apr 8, 2011 at 12:52 PM

But if it’s a commercial for New Era caps, shouldn’t they have worked in some sort of brand link for Baldwin?

  5. spudchukar - Apr 8, 2011 at 12:53 PM

    Just about perfect.

  6. Jonny 5 - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:01 PM

    LMAO!!! I love IT!

  7. heyblueyoustink - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:05 PM

Fascism….better than Communism, like the kind where you’re employer has a web quarantine blocker that won’t allow you to view the commercial under the fluorescent moonlight

  8. shaggylocks - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:07 PM

This was a lot funnier before the Sox were 0-6…

  9. scatterbrian - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:15 PM

That was awesome. Baldwin wins….and Krasinski is pretty damn funny too….

  10. nps6724 - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:17 PM

I like it. Alec and John…I mean Baldwin and Krazinski are two funny guys.

    • phukyouk - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:21 PM

i see what you did there….

  11. lardin - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:19 PM

I thought Alec Baldwin summed up Yankees fan’s views of the Sox perfectly.

“This is not a rivalry, Just like fire does not a have a rivalry with kindling, just like longhorns do not have rivalry with grass, just like the United States does not have a rivalry with Costa Rica.”

    • scatterbrian - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:21 PM

      lawnmowers

      • nps6724 - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:23 PM

About to say, I was wondering how I misheard “longhorns” as “lawnmowers”.

  12. yankeesfanlen - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:28 PM

Charlie Sheen should have been the Sox fan.

    • Utley's Hair - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:45 PM

Wouldn’t be appropriate right now, since they’re not “Winning!!!”

      • yankeesfanlen - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:52 PM

Neither is Charlie, but don’t tell him.

  13. mercyflush - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:39 PM

“just like the United States does not have a rivalry with Costa Rica” lol

  14. Kevin S. - Apr 8, 2011 at 1:53 PM

    Fan-freakin-tastic.

  15. yankeesgameday - Apr 8, 2011 at 6:19 PM

How come whenever Alec Baldwin plays “himself” now, what he is really doing is playing his Jack Donaghy character from 30 Rock?

  16. macjacmccoy - Apr 8, 2011 at 6:45 PM

adding the Philly part in there was funny.
