The Sox should praise the God of Great Pitching Matchups for giving them Phil Hughes. Hughes has looked like dog crap since the eighth game of last year, sans a few games. During that time, his ERA is very close to being on par with AJ Burnett. He needs to be sent back to Triple A so he can build up some trade value. I’ve lost hope for him.

And Girardi, for the love of God, Satan, and all that is holy and evil, STOP using Boone Logan in key situations!!!!!!1! Take a look at his stats in your big black binder – last year was an OUTLIER.

Blue Jays just won. With the Yankees loss, the Jays are solidly in 2nd with the O’s leading the division. Great start. My boys seem to find a way to get it done.

I’m encouraged. The offense pulled it together, despite a poor outing from Lackey- and I feel good about this series. Lackey was the pitcher I was the most concerned with- and the offense rallied for a win. So I’m optimistic about Sat-Sun.

And after all the doom and gloom, the Sox are only 3 games behind the Yankees. Playing 3 games better than the Yankees over the next 155 games seems quite possible.
