Yankees vs. Red Sox Live Blog/Chat: Come for the panic, stay for the chitchat!

It’s Friday. There isn’t a ton of actual news happening. The government is probably gonna shut down soon. And while those things are wonderful, the best part of the day is daytime baseball!

We’re flexing our East Coast Bias muscles today, going with the Yankees vs. the Red Sox. The game starts at 2:05 Eastern. Best part: if it really stinks, we may be persuaded to change it to Royals vs. Tigers at 3!

Come on in, take a load off and gab.

I just heard the jets fly over my office. Good to see we got that in before the government shutdown.

THey are doing a fly over for the Twins-A’s game as well. Wonder how much that costs the poor taxpayers.

I’m pretty sure in Minnesota it’s just a bunch of farmers flying crop dusters…totally different.

I’m loathe to think that the military would shut down. And I’m willing to take an uneducated guess and say that the home team or baseball might be on the hook for a bit of those expenses anyway.

Francona kept running Lackey back out there and expected a different result?

Is Girardi actually that supid? Boone Logan again fails miserably after Colon pitched near perfect baseball for 5 plus innings. Colon must have gotten a couple of lefties out during that stretch, HUH? Any little league coach would be able to make more informed decisions than Joe Stupid. Due to Joe Stupid’s terrible decisions in the last two losses, the Yanks are now 4 & 3 instead of 5 & 1. Wake up Joe or pull a Manny Rameriz & RETIRE OR RESIGN!!!!

    HELP, HELP, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally understand your frustration, but the real issue is Phil Hughes. There has to be something physically wrong with him, he had absolutely nothing, plus his fastball is down 5mph, I don’t understand how you can drop that much off your fastball if you’re 100%.

pisano; he keeps trying with that cutter. It doesn’t cut enough. He’s taking enough off it to get it to move but I think he mis-holds it or hasn’t the right grip pressure or something. I think he’s trying to pitch longer into games, save his arm strength by throwing more off to slightly-off speed. When it doesn’t work, he and his catcher can’t adjust; just sticks with the plan and throws stuff that’s getting murdered. Poor bugger looked just rattled tonight. Oy, oy oy.
