I’d get the heck out of Japan too. I obviously feel for the people, but this is scary stuff. And I have no idea how the heck they’re playing baseball over there. Like 1/4 of the country is wiped out or uninhabitable.

I always liked Bannister, he seemed like an intelligent dude and was very realistic about his talents. A big sabermetrics guy if I remember correctly–Joe Posnanski had a bunch of pieces about him.

Couldn’t he come back to MLB, or is there some rule that would prevent that? Otherwise his JAPAN bnaseball career seems in jeopardy, but I would completely rule out some MLB team taking a chance on him. After all, Carlos Silva just got a contract…
