I can’t see where he made an error with an “a,” but roll is spelled correctly when used this way—think honor roll or roll call.

Instant replay in baseball? That’s all we need to shorten games. There are three teams on a baseball field, and they all make errors. (But the team with the fewest members makes by far the fewest.) If baseball would get some sort of system to get rid of bad umpires — including those too thin skinned — the calls for IR would go away.

Players will need to pretend it’s fair still every time it’s that close. If it really was foul, then it will be nothing to call them back to their bags.

I assume they’ll treat those situations much like a ground rule double with an arbitrary decision as to how far the runner would have made it. Far from perfect to say the least.

The fair-foul thing won’t work: what happens if its called foul and replay shows it fair? Where do you put the runners? And the trap play won’t work either – what if its ruled a catch but replay shows a trap? Same thing.
Leave replay alone already. Otherwise we’ll have 6-hour Yankees-Red Sox games.
