Get ready, Indians fans.

According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, the Indians could activate Grady Sizemore from the disabled list as soon as tomorrow.

Sizemore, who is working his way back from microfracture surgery on his left knee, is batting .353 (6-for-17) over five minor league rehab games. He homered in his first game with Triple-A Columbus on Thursday and worked out with the Indians yesterday. We were expecting Sizemore to return sometime next week, but the Indians obviously like what they’ve seen.

The Indians beat the Orioles 8-2 last night and are currently 9-4 to begin the season. Who knows how long it will last, but it’s nice to see a little excitement in Cleveland again.

“It’s nice to see a little excitement in Cleveland again.” You said it. I’m not expecting the 2005-2008 version Of Sizemore to ever return, but if he could be 60-70% of that, it’d still be a great boost to a team that’s playing really well (if also above their heads). Tied for the best record in baseball even two weeks into the season feels like found money, so I’ll enjoy the ride while it lasts.
