Dallas Braden placed on disabled list with shoulder injury

UPDATE: Braden has been placed on the disabled list, so now he’ll miss at least 2-3 starts.

Dallas Braden was pulled from Saturday’s start after five innings because of shoulder soreness and told reporters yesterday that he expects to miss his next turn in the rotation at the very least.

Having today off could allow the A’s to skip Braden’s turn in the rotation and avoid putting him on the disabled list if they think he might miss only one start, but if more time off is needed they’d likely replace him with Tyson Ross.

Asked about his status yesterday Braden wasn’t very talkative, saying only: “Still sore, stiff, hurts. I’m not going to throw.”

As long as he stays on the bench and keeps whispering in Gio’s ear, that’s his real value…

While he has this time off he should look up a good mental health doctor, that’s what’s needed in the 209!
