Agreed–Cuban would raise the bar too high for the Old Boy Owners’ comfort. Could you imagine Cuban coming in with a team, not treating it like his personal piggy bank, caring about the fans and becoming genuinely beloved by them, and shaking up the stodginess of the owner’s cabal?

And if you’re Peter Angelos, the specter of Orioles fans asking why you can’t be more like Cuban is enough to keep you awake nights.

Because of my thorough investigation of Hardballtalk.

It’s usually conducted during the hours of 9-5, M-F.

You know: when I’m at work, getting paid for doing, basically, nothing.

Though, I swear: that salary’s not enough money to interest you.
