Bill Baer had a good post (he always seems to have good posts) about the Phils’ offense today, indicating that there really isn’t a lot of “bad luck” or unexpectedly poor performance going on from the guys in the lineup. In general, this has been exactly what the Philadelphia offense is, and if they’re going to win games, as you said, they’re either going to have to bring someone in, or count on their pitching staff to have a staff-wide ERA around 2 for the rest of the year, and that’s a pretty tall order. Or Chase Utley could come back next week and hit .600 for the rest of the year with 95 homers. That would help them as well.
