They need him badly – and just how badly, I suspect, is going to show on the road trip that begins tomorrow in Cincinnati.

They also need to hope that John Baker will be ready to play sooner rather than later. Their inexplicably eighteen million dollar baby, John Buck, is reverting to his pre-2010 form at the plate and the guy who was supposed to be a “huge upgrade in terms of power” at C is looking luckier and luckier every time he makes contact at all. His at-bats are becoming parodies of the quantum double slit experiment.
