Aaaaannd Upton didn’t miss that fastball from Rauch. A 2 run, bottom of the 9th, walk off, come from behind shot. Sigh.

No Jose Bautisita they tell me for this entire series. At least Jo Jo Reyes pitched well, which was a nice change.

End 6th inning now. Beavermen still in the lead, 2 – 1. They seem utterly without offense while Upton has come within a millimeter of the barrel of the bat twice and has missed 2 homers by mere feet. The Jays are getting by on luck, steady pitching by Reyes of all people, and some close call on the basepaths. So long as Cowboy Joe West doesn’t have to call a close one over @ 2nd all might still work out for the Beavermen. I’m not holding my breath though; I expect a late inning collapse by Jo Jo Reyes followed by a complete bullpen and offense abdication of any chance of winning this game.

There is no joy in Mudville tonight. The Mighty Jose has slept funny and now can’t turn his head to watch his hero-shots sail into the cheap seats behind left field.

The slaughter starts in ~30 minutes. All you TBR fans who want to see the Beavermen get annihilated can set your alarms. I’ll give it till the 5th inning then I will be under bed in the cool dusty dark with my dog.
