Well, the problem with what you’re saying is that this isn’t remotely the first time this issue has come up. Anyone who thinks that Hillary and Bill, John Mccain, Sarah Palin, the entire cast of Fox News, etc… wouldn’t have found positive evidence of Obama’s birth outside the US by this point, is simply going to extreme lengths to tolerate partisan warfare that keeps this country as fragmented and divisive as ever.

Unfortunately, the whole country is being colored by them. I travel abroad quite a bit – I like broads – especially to our steadfast ally, Great Britain, or Al-Britain as it’s called in the tandooris. My friends frequently ask me what’s wrong with us. I’ve heard that a lot since Bush was re-elected. My French friends don’t bother me much – they’re too busy laughing their asses off over “freedom fries” and bombing Libyans to show us that they’re not wussies and that their demurral over Iraq was a matter of just being smarter than we were. All of this makes it more difficult for me to convince them to stop wasting their time on backandforthandbackandforthandbackandforthball and try watching some baseball games instead. But I continue to fight the good fight.

Are you people serious or just really naive? I knew a guy in college who made birth certificates in his dorm room. He got ahold of a embosser with the State seal, and sold a truckload to underage students who would take them to the DMV and receive a official State Identification Card stating they were legal drinking age.

The guy was a total idiot and eventually got caught, but there were a lot of bogus State-Issued ID cards on campus because everybody at the DMV thought the birth certificates were valid and authentic, even though they were not. If that moron was able to create a birth certificate in his dorm room, which was accepted at any DMV, I don’t think it’d be too hard for someone intelligent to do the same.

Now, in all seriousness, we had to ditch the John Birchers once. Now we must take aim at the birthers and one-note singers (any group within the party that judges all based on one issue a la the “Tea Party” faction). Most of us are capable of speaking without drooling, walking without dragging our knuckles, have normal frontal lobes, and can actually reason logically. Unfortunately, our party is currently being colored by the loudmouths.

I think most of the people here realize that it’s not just a government saying that Obama was born in Hawaii, it’s multiple levels of government (Federal and state), as well as private individuals, and every single national media outlet, including those most predisposed against this President, as well as physical evidence from the time he was born.

Fantastic. Can we get someone to call into an AM radio show and point out that there is far more evidence available to indicate that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii than there is that the earth was made in 7 days, or that the Son of God arose from the dead, or that Noah got two of every species on the planet onto one boat, or that there is a “God” at all?

I would do it, but I’m sure I would have to listen to whatever program I called into while I waited on hold, which could legitimately lead to me punching myself in the face.

My favourite part of Mellinger’s column? It’s this paragraph:

So, you HAVE to take the Bible at faith, but not the President? And being presented with actual proof – a higher standard than the Bible can provide – still isn’t good enough? And all Sam can say is “his logic isn’t always linear”? Step out on the ledge, Sam. I’d say his logic isn’t always apparent. Heck, his logic just simply isn’t.

Full credit to Luke Scott, though – this whole farce may actually be bringing me around to believing in creationism, because there’s absolutely nothing about Luke Scott that’s evolved…
