How about “Push Down and Turn”. Local band out of Indy a while back.

Although “Past A Diving Jeter” sounds good.

‘Goofy Saber Gods’ is about as awful a band name as anything Dave Barry has come up with. Maybe its a good name for a hobby band of old musicians who are reeeally into baseball stats/snark, if such musicians exist.

Say what you will about “guys typing away in their moms’ basements.” At least that actually meant something. “Goofy saber-Gods” doesn’t even evoke a coherent mental image. Sounds like something Joe Morgan would scratch into his bedroom wall during a bad LSD trip.

Hey, Pearl Jam’s original name for their band was Mookie Blaylock (which is why their first album was entitled “10″, after Blaylock’s jersey number). Why not have a Sabre-Goofs band? I kinda dig it.
I was always partial to the Pajama Slave Dancers as a great band name. There also used to be a local band in the Connecticut/Massachusetts area called Place Stamp Here.
Ah, but I digress….
