Morton certainly throws harder than Roy, so that kind of 'stuff' is better. Halladay doesn't usually bother to hike it up past 94 mph these days while Morton will do that greater regularity. Now if Morton models his cutter after Halladay's then he'll cooking with the good stuff and save his arm for deeper into games.

I can't help but feel some words were edited out of Overbay's quote.

“Charlie’s the spitting image,” said Pirates first baseman Lyle Overbay, formerly Halladay’s teammate in Toronto. “And, to be honest, he’s got better stuff than Roy does. Not as in pitching stuff mind you, but as in a higher quality product that has nothing to do with baseball. Roy has a better idea where his ball is going because he’s been doing it a lot longer and he's a much, much better pitcher. Like, a billion times better. And the sinker comes out of Charlie’s hand way better. Wait....not better. What's that word? Umm...worse. That's it. The sinker that comes out Charlie's hand is much worse. It's actually kind of cruel to call it a sinker, now that I think about it”
