Angels manager Mike Scioscia notches 1,000th victory

With the Angels’ 6-5 victory over the Indians on Sunday, Mike Scioscia became the fifth active manager to reach 1,000 wins.

The up-to-the-minute list:

Scioscia is the 56th manager in major league history to reach 1,000 victories and the 23rd to reach that total with a single team.

    Never would have guessed Leyland was under .500. He’s managed a number of good and overachiving teams. Kind of like Gene Mauch, except Leyland got his ring Of course, he’s managed some seriously stinky teams, too.
