Phillies activate Joe Blanton from DL for tonight’s start

May 9, 2011, 3:41 PM EDT

Joe Blanton

After missing the minimum 15 days with an elbow injury Joe Blanton has been activated from the disabled list and will start tonight against the Marlins.

Blanton had a 5.91 ERA in four starts prior to going on the DL and Vance Worley did a nice job filling in for him, going 2-0 with a 12/4 K/BB in 12 innings ratio while allowing just one run in two starts.

Worley is now listed as Friday’s starter, but that could change if Roy Oswalt is ready to come off the DL by then.

UPDATE: Forget all that stuff about Worley or Oswalt starting Friday, as the Phillies have now altered the rotation.
